What do I believe a parent owes their kids

I believe that the most minimal a parent owes to a kid is at least a type of encouragement.

I say this because what kid would not want a loving or encouraging parent pushing them to do their best. There are many kids who don’t receive this type of attention or affection which then gets in passed to their own kids. Things like emotional support are not really separate from a parent’s responsibility things like that naturally come out of one.

Form what I can infer from this prompt is that I came to an understanding that their are people who fell a certain way to kids. Talking care of them only due to having a sense of responsibility to them.
